I’m Kristen your health and nutrition mama. I grew up eating what most likely anyone who grew up in the 90s did – boxed macaroni and frozen dinners and it wasn’t until adulthood that I realized I had a lot of learning to do when it comes to food and health. I wouldn’t say I didn’t feel well but I certainly was lacking in the natural energy department when I was in college and with the added work load that comes from the jump from high school to college I started relying on way more caffeine than I’d like to admit. By the time I graduated from college I was a wreck in terms of my health from all those nights staying up until 3am to study and waking up at 6am to do it all again. After I graduated, I started getting super into my health and nutrition and reading everything I could on the topic. Eventually I made the decision to get certified as a nutrition coach which led me into working in a gym and becoming a personal trainer. It was here that I tested tons of different fad diets and nutrition trends. Instead of losing the weight or feeling better energy as everyone who touted these dieting trends claimed I was gaining weight and more exhausted then ever. It took me a long time and tons of trial and error but I came out the other end learning a lot more than I probably every could if I hadn’t experienced it first hand. This curiosity and desire for more knowledge led me to going back to school and getting my Master’s in Nutrition. Since then I’ve spent countless hours researching all things health and now that I’m a mom I spend pretty much every minute that I’m not working or with my family researching. This is where this blog comes in as I want to share this knowledge and research and everything I’ve learned to help other Mama’s out there. Welcome to my blog, I’m glad you’re here!
